Hey! It’s Maria West. As a reminder, you signed up for my newsletter, Mommy’s Disrupting, because you care about the quality of parenting content online.
It’s been a minute since my last issue since I’ve been on maternity leave with my second son.
Cue the awwws:
I’ve also been not-so-secretly rebranding my own copywriting business between nursing sessions and binging Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls (twice). And as a lucky subscriber, you get the pre-official-launch deets.
Meet DTC Mom: copywriting for parenting & kids’ brands in DTC, e-commerce, and tech.
Support my work without paying me lots of money by following me on Instagram at @dtc.mom.
To coincide with my biz rebrand, this newsletter is going to have a fresh name that I feel will allow for more flexibility in content. So, what is it?
Drumroll, please…
Mommy’s Disrupting will now be The Cluster Feed
Inspired by the newborn stage and our relationship with content, “The Cluster Feed” captures the intersection of parenthood and our digital experience.
The inspo
The cluster-feeding stage is when babies (typically breastfed) go through a growth spurt or brain leap that requires frequent refueling. It’s an exhausting phase for parents, but important for the growth of the child.
Our social feeds also are complete cluster(f*ck)s. The parenting space in particular is full of low-bar content with exponential copycat potential — and the less-than-mediocre becomes the norm.
Read more about this in the first issue: "Welcome to parenthood! Here's a bunch of uninspired memes."
What to expect when you’re expecting my newsletter
After this issue, you’ll see “The Cluster Feed” in your inbox. You’ll stay on my list and all current links will redirect (thanks, Substack!), so no need to fret if you share this with all of your friends.
Thank you for your support from the bottom of my emotional postpartum heart.
xoxo
